    Position: Inclusion Lead

    Location: Brookhurst Primary School, Leamington Spa

    Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Inclusion Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all our children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), receive the support and resources they need to reach their full potential. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and making a difference in the lives of children.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Proactively lead inclusion initiatives across the entire primary age range ensuring the diverse needs of all students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Looked After Children (LAC), are comprehensively supported

    • Demonstrate stamina and resilience in addressing the diverse needs of our pupils.

    • Employ a solution-focused approach to overcome barriers to learning and participation.

    • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to provide tailored support for pupils with SEND.

    • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the SEND processes, including EHCP applications.

    • Uphold the values and vision of our school, promoting a culture of inclusivity and acceptance.

    • Lead and motivate a team of inclusion specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

    • Demonstrate autonomy in decision-making while also contributing to the broader leadership team.

    • Prepare clear and concise reports for various stakeholders, effectively communicating the progress and needs of children with SEND.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a primary school setting.

    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

    • Strong team ethic and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

    • Pragmatic and creative mind-set, able to adapt strategies to meet the evolving needs of our children.

    • A track record of successfully leading inclusion initiatives and driving positive outcomes for pupils with SEND.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise tasks accordingly.

    • Commitment to professional development and staying abreast of best practices in inclusive education.

    Safeguarding and Professional Development:

    At Brookhurst, safeguarding is paramount. The successful candidate will be expected to undergo or maintain training to be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and adhere to our robust safeguarding policies and practices. We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all our children.

    Professional Development Opportunities:

    The ideal candidate should hold the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASeNCO) or be willing to undertake the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs), which will be launched in September. We support continuous professional development and offer opportunities for further training and growth.

    Job Details:

    This position can be either full-time or part-time. For full-time, it would involve 3 days as SENCo and 2 days class-based, or alternatively, it could be a part-time role consisting of 3 days SENCo per week. The starting date for this role is September 2024.

    Salary and Additional Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with experience at TMS or TUS, with an additional TLR 2. The specific amount for the TLR 2 will be agreed upon appointment, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
