    Job summary

    Are you an experienced NHS Payroll and Pensions professional? The ESNEFT payroll team are looking for a experienced, enthusiastic payroll professional to step into the Deputy Payroll Manager role. Spanning ESNEFTs two acute sites, community sites and community services, this role will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely remuneration and pensions advice for our dedicated staff. As our Deputy Payroll Manager, you will be an integral part of the team that supports the backbone of our organisation. Main duties of the job In this role you will lead a team of skilled payroll professionals, overseeing the accurate and efficient processing of payroll and pensions for our employees, whilst influencing positive change. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining our reputation for reliable and timely remuneration services and accurate pension processing and filing. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including the outsourced provider. You will provide ongoing training and support to your teams whilst working alongside the Payroll Manager and Head ESR, E-Rostering and Payroll to strive for continuous service improvement.     • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification or significant experience of working at degree level
    • Management /leadership qualification or equivalent knowledge at post graduate level
    • Evidence of continued professional development

    • Proven experience of working in a management/leadership role within an NHS Payroll environment
    • Experience of managing /leading a team
    • Practical NHS Payroll experience
    • Experience of facilitating change in practice to improve services

    Knowledge and Skills Essential
    • Financial procedures including budgetary management
    • Business planning /annual planning
    • Good understanding of change management
    • Use of IT systems (e.g. Word , Excel, Outlook, ESR and Health Roster) - standard keyboard skills
    • Demonstrable knowledge of service improvements and project management
    • Understanding of the NHS and current agenda
    • Risk management and governance
