    Sustainability Manager
    12 months fixed term with the view to go perm
    Permanent Role
    My client is a tier one main contractor who is looking to expand their Sustainability team with a new manager:

    The Sustainability Manager is a pro-active generalist, able to cover all major issues of sustainability with all relevant stakeholders.

    This role is responsible for the delivery of a high priority project's sustainability deliverables, improvement, verification, as well as leading on carbon emissions reduction reaching Net Zero Carbon, waste reduction and circular economy performance.


    • Leading on sustainability performance reporting, improvement and verification of data
    • Leading the Business Unit on all items sustainability
    • Assisting in the development of new strategy, policy and targets for the Business
    • Supporting the business in the implementation and delivery of the Group Sustainability strategy, its ambitions and targets
    • Supporting sustainability input to business development & bids
    • Carrying out research and development, identifying opportunities, encouraging innovation and improvements in transferability to increase efficiency and work-winning
    • Influencing and networking, speaking and profile raising
    Fully literate in the different carbon scopes while being able to clearly articulate to a range of audiences, including senior management


    • Ensure that accurate and clear sustainability data is captured and reported across the specific project portfolio
    • Proven ability to implement sustainability initiatives across multiple projects simultaneously
    • Building client relations across a portfolio of projects
    • Bid writing skills and presenting to potential clients
    Strong technical knowledge and experience in environment and sustainability in construction and preconstruction


    • Demonstrated experience in delivering environment and sustainability performance for construction projects
    • Leading client meetings on sustainability deliverables
    • Leading project meetings on sustainable delivery
    • Strong analytical, rigorous approach to sustainability data and the performance of construction projects
    • Business minded, able to articulate the value and benefits of sustainability, compliance, reporting, etc.
    • Building client relations across a portfolio of projects
    • Previous experience leading a business unit and agreeing resource allocations on projects
    • Working with Senior Management Team across a business
    Will have relevant bachelor's degree in Sustainability/Geography/Environmental Studies or appropriate qualifications


    • A valid CSCS card
    • Will have relevant master's degree in Sustainability/Geography/Environmental Studies or appropriate qualifications
