GDIT is seeking a Senior Test Engineer that is well skilled in performing product testing, operational simulation testing, stress testing, performance testing, and user verification testing to demonstrate compliance with applicable financial auditability requirements.

    How the Senior Test Engineer will Make an Impact:

    This role will directly support our customer at the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). USTRANSCOM provides global transportation and logistics needs to the US military, defense agencies, and other Government organizations. This contract is an umbrella program that integrates and governs end-to-end distribution process optimization initiatives including continuous business process improvement, process visualization and dynamic transportation decision making.

    Solutions and capabilities will be continuously developed, and it is the Test Engineer's responsibility to ensure the releases are tested to meet the functionality and validity of its design. The speed, stability, and scalability are a few attributes the Test Engineer will ensure that performance testing is accomplished satisfactorily. The Test Engineer will work with the responsible Government authority to ensure each solution meets their user requirements and that each build is of high quality and delivered on schedule.

    Basic Desired Qualifications

    • Responsible for the creation and automation of test plans and scripts for various testing environment including but not limited to load, performance, system, regression.
    • Consults with developers, engineers, and recommends the appropriate test requirements.
    • Identifies potential software and hardware shortfalls and risks and recommends mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborates with application developers, engineers, and administrators to isolate and fix any bottlenecks in application/system performance and functionality.
    • Prepares reports and documentation to convey the results and test findings.
    • Analyzes system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system descriptions to develop evaluation and test plans and procedures, prepare for and conduct the data collection and analysis, and report status and results.
    • Supports the development of Government test and evaluation documentation e.g., Test & Evaluation (T&E) Strategy, Test & Evaluation Master Plan, Event Test Plans, Test Readiness Assessments, and T&E Reports.
    • Works with other test organizations to support T&E program integration. Provides specialized T&E capabilities tailored to system functions, level, maturity, and performance areas.

    What you'll need to succeed:

    • Education: BA/BS Degree
    • Required Experience: 6+ years of Test Engineering experience.
    • Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required.
    • Certification: CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
    • US Citizenship required.

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Create test solutions and support other engineers in projects.
    • Ensure the test solution robustness for sustainment.
    • Work together with the design team to ensure the optimal test coverage.
    • Proficient with various automated testing practices
    • Work as part of a SCRUM team to support innovative quality engineering practices.
    • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Agile development process methodology experience.
    • Experience in web services testing, test automation and have in-depth knowledge and experience of Test Automation frameworks and tools.
    • Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle management (Agile/SCRUM methodology).

    The likely salary range for this position is $76,000 - $114,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
