    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to work in the Children in Care Nursing Team.

    This role will involve working with Children in Care and Care leavers. The successful applicant will provide a high level of person centred care to children, young people and asylum seekers.

    The work will include proactive health promotion and completing health activities/packages of care with the children.

    A key part of the role will be supporting care leavers to meet their health needs and signposting to external agencies if required.

    They will be supported by a well established team with a period of preceptorship.

    This is a new role which can be developed by the right applicant with support from the team. This role will suit a confident and child focussed Nursing Associate.

    Main duties of the job

    Supportindividuals with all aspects of care including daily living, providingperson-centred care and health promotion.

    Beprepared to undertake additional skills once competent.

    Ensurethe privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained at all times.

    Demonstratethe ability to recognise changing priorities.

    Reportback and share information with the registered nurses on the condition,behaviour, activity and responses of individuals.

    Recogniseissues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and raise concerns to the appropriate registered care professionals.

    Assist inthe assessment of and contribute to the management of risk.

    Assist inthe delivery of complex care as prescribed by the registered nurse.

    Developskills in relation to coaching/teaching individuals/carers/other staff.

    Demonstrategood understanding of principles of consent.

    Demonstrategood understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.

    Plan andmanage competing demands of job role, study and placement activities.

    Work inan effective and organised manner demonstrating excellent time management.

    Develop understanding of all elements of the nursing process and be able to assist the registered nurse in the on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care.

    Have access to a care and a driving license as you will visit children in their homes.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Foundation Level Degree: Nursing Associate Qualification.
  • NMC Registered Nursing Associate.
  • Foundation Degree.
  • Completion of End Point Assessment for applicants who have undertaken an apprenticeship route.
  • GCSE Grade A-C English and Maths or Level 2 in Maths and English.
  • When English is spoken as a second language, must have an IELTS score of
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Completion of end point assessment if undertaken NA training as an apprentice.

  • Essential induction training and experience.
  • Care Certificate.
  • 5 GCSEs Grade A-C to include Maths and English.
