    Resourcing Group background
    Description
Contract Term: 6 months (with possible extension)
    Network Rail

    Location:
Hybrid Working (up to three days per week office based - London or York)
Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain's railway.

From Crossrail - Europe's largest civil engineering project - to investment in world-class stations and major programmes of electrification, we're involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures that this country has ever seen.

We at Network Rail are dedicated to becoming one of Britain's best employers and believe this starts with placing the candidate at the heart of everything we do

Industry Partnership for Digital Railway (IPDR) is a national and cross-industry enterprise led by Eastern Region with the mission of creating the next generation railway, through the deployment of European Train Control System (ETCS) digital train control technology.

ECDP is the foundation for the network digital strategy and over two-thirds of its investment will enable and support the deployment of ETCS on other parts of the network.

Within IPDR we are establishing the Digital Signalling portfolio to oversee the wider rollout of ETCS across Great Britain and make it easier for Regions and schemes to deploy ETCS.

Through the portfolio we will co-ordinate and deliver fleet fitment activities, work to develop robust, repeatable approaches to technical delivery and business change, increase supply chain capability and capacity, and deliver initiatives to build the industry's capability to efficiently plan, design, deliver, operate and maintain an ETCS railway.

Lead business requirements into technical specification and solutions for the Rail Investment Centre of Excellence to improve data and reporting robustness and accessibility through more efficient working with the Regions.

Lead the design, build and deployment of business intelligence reports and dashboards using artificial intelligence tools to support portfolio, programme, and project assurance.

Develop user guidance to support embedding and usage of technology interventions and reporting to allow the executive team to make informed decisions for the programme portfolio and projects.

Evaluate regional systems against the demands required by portfolio's, programmes, and projects, including representing Rail Investment Centre of Excellence at Network Rail reporting systems forums so functional requirements are included.

Develop risk and issue mitigation in respect of systems and requirement issues, providing practical solutions in respect of changes and modification of systems.

Develop new strategies and reporting procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve customer satisfaction in support of portfolio, programme, and projects being delivered.

Manage, direct, and coordinate in-house reporting / IT experts and remote employees, vendors and contractors as required by the portfolio, programmes and projects to support their understanding of our environment and support systems embedding.

Define & maintain a comprehensive range of portfolio wide indicators / measures for rail investment in the company to support informed decision making and provide information on the health of the portfolio.

A strong understanding of financial concepts and investment principles is crucial. This includes familiarity with portfolio management, asset allocation, risk assessment, and performance measurement.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques is essential for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and extracting insights from large datasets.

Experience with software such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools.
Ability to work with various portfolio management systems, databases, and reporting platforms is necessary.
The ability to meticulously review data, detect errors, and ensure consistency is paramount.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for conveying complex financial information to various stakeholders. Network Rail is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. Disability confident

As a member of the disability confident scheme, Network Rail guarantees to interview all candidates who have a disability and who meet all the essential criteria for the vacancy.

In cases where we have a high volume of candidates who have a disability who meet all the essential criteria, we will interview the best candidates from within that group.
