Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, highly experienced and passionate Physiotherapist to clinically team lead the Critical Care Physiotherapy Team, working alongside the Critical Care Physiotherapist Extended Scope Practitioner.
We are looking for an innovative, patient focused therapist with a passion for the management of patients with critically ill conditions, providing highly skilled respiratory care and complex rehabilitation.
You will have a wide range of clinical experience and the leadership qualities needed to inspire and support a team of physiotherapists and an integrated therapy assistant to consistently deliver safe, personal and effective care to our patients.
You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that will enable you to act as an advocate for patients with complex critically ill patients, and promote the role of therapies within Critical Care and the wider network .
The post holder will be required to work across a 7 day period, working weekends on a rota basis.Provide operational and line management to a designated team in the delivery of a highly effective, safe and personal service, delivered around the needs of individual patients/carers as described by agreed goals/outcome measures and within defined clinical pathways.
Provide teaching and highly specialist support in the management of complex conditions, educating other healthcare professionals and wider stakeholders.To manage individual care in the area of critical care.
Within this area the Physiotherapist will require a broad knowledge of conditions relating to critical care including an in-depth knowledge and understanding of surgical procedures (post op CCU).
They will also be required to have highly developed respiratory and rehabilitation skills to treat the group of patients and also to support the delivery of on-call training/competencies to more junior staff.

The Therapies and Orthotics directorate is driven by the trusts strategic objectives and values, alongside the new ELHT AHP Strategy and we look for people who are strongly aligned with them.
Provide early intervention of HR issues such as performance, disputes, behaviour, sickness etc with the support of HR and operational management.
~ TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT~ Ensure compliance with mandatory training for yourself and your team.
~ Take responsibility for own professional development and the development of your team using a training needs analysis and competency framework across a variety of settings and patient groups and clinical pathways.
~ Plan, organise and deliver training to students, assistants, junior staff and colleagues including wider multi-disciplinary team and other agencies as required.
~ Provide training to other health care professions, both undergraduate and post graduate level.
~ Actively contribute to the development and delivery of the Therapies Directorate and service level business and improvement plans.
~ Undertake line management duties including rostering, job planning, appraisals, clinical supervision, approval of travel expenses, sickness monitoring and support etc.
~ Undertake a team leader role in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluation of the designated clinical service.
~ Lead on the performance management of the designated clinical team across a range of Quality, Delivery, Finance and People measures.
~ Lead on the recruitment and retention of staff, ensuring competency frameworks are in place, supporting staff through probationary and preceptorship with training and feedback. Be responsible for deputising for the Clinical and Operational Service leads and 8a Critical Care Extended Scope Practitioner.

Research and Development Projects
Whenever you decide to undertake a piece of research, either as a Principal Investigator or Local Researcher, or Assistant Researcher, you must comply with the principles of Clinical Governance and the Research Governance Framework.
Key performance objectives, development needs and compilation of a Personal Development Plan will be discussed and agreed at Annual Development Review meetings.
Post holders are required to attend any relevant and mandatory training for the post.
Registration with Health and Care Professions Council
Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical service area
Evidence of management and/or leadership development/ training
Significant post graduate experience, including experience in a relevant specialist role
Demonstrate clinical expertise in the management of highly complex patients within clinical area
Experience of leading service change and quality improvement projects for safe, personal, and effective care
Experience of undergraduate student and/or support staff supervision
In depth knowledge of local and national NHS/Social Care agenda and its relevance to service area
In depth knowledge of national policy, clinical practice standards and guidelines relevant to service area
Able to manage high levels of risk in relationship to patient care
