    Description

    Position Title:
    IT Operations and Cloud Engineer

    We are currently searching for an IT Operations and Cloud Engineer to join our client either remotely or onsite in Gibraltar if you desired to relocate.

    If you were to opt to work in a remote capacity then you will still be expected to travel to site when operationally required.

    In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our clients cloud-based applications and services.


    Role & Responsibilities:
    Monitoring and maintaining the performance, availability, and security of cloud-based applications and services.

    Developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment and management of IT infrastructure across various virtualization and cloud platforms.

    Creating and maintaining technical documentation and procedures.
    Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies.
    Providing IT infrastructure technical support and assistance to internal teams.


    Key Technical Skills/Requirements:
    ~3+ years of experience with Linux server environments.
    ~ Experience with automation, application deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
    ~ Creating and maintaining "Infrastructure As Code" using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or Terraform.
    ~ Experience with log aggregation tools such as ELK, Graylog, or Splunk.
    ~ Strong understanding of virtualization & cloud computing concepts, including virtualization, networking, security, and storage.
    ~ Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    ~ Hands-on experience with a programming/scripting language such as Python or PowerShell.


    Key Non-Technical Skills/Requirements:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical staff.
    Ability to complete complex tasks methodically, with an eye for detail.
    Enthusiastic and passionate about IT.
    Excellent organization, task prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to operate independently in a remote role.


    Desirable:
    VMWare ESXi & vCenter environments.
    OpenStack or public cloud technologies.
    RedHat or binary compatible OS environments.
    Atlassian JIRA, Bamboo, and Confluence.

    As part of this role, you should be prepared for:
    Participation in an on-call roster.
    Occasional travel to company locations if/when required.
    Ability to work outside of regular business hours when required to support critical systems and infrastructure.
