    Nursing Associate
    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to work in Grantham CMHT.

    The Nursing Associate role is relatively new to the NHS and we are looking forward to you joining us in forging the way for Nursing Associates in our workforce.

    The role will be part of an integrated health/social care team providing care for people experiencing mental health problems in the local community.

    Offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting health, wellbeing, self-autonomy and independence.

    Grantham CMHT are part of the developing transformation service in our local area.

    The post holders will be required to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of high quality mental health care planning and risk management.

    This work will involve patients and their carers in the delivery of evidence based interventions/treatments, recovery focused work.

    The post holder will have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support within the adult community setting.

    The nursing associate will work independently under the leadership of the registered nurse, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.

    To be part of an integrated health/social care team providing care for service users suffering fromn serious and enduring mental illness.

    Offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting health, wellbeing, self autonomy and independence.

    The post holder will have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centered care and support for people of any age and in a variety of settings.

    The nursing associate will work independently under the leadership of the registered nurse, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.

    Monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with service users, families and carers
    Perform nursing interventions advocated within the service users care plan
    Recognise the contribution of others in the provision of service user care
    Involve service users/ carers in the planning and delivery of care in a compassionate and appropriate manner which considers their diverse needs
    Maintain the welfare and safety of service users and protect them from any form of abuse in accordance with safeguarding guidance
    Monitor the impact and effectiveness of nursing care delivered
    Make and maintain accurate records of nursing care in accordance with the professional (NMC) guidance and Trust policy
    Engage in public health, community development and in the reduction of health inequalities
    Medicines Management as delegated by the Nurse in Charge and within the scope of practice and competency of the designated practitioner
    Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
    GCSE Grade A-C or Grade 9-4 in Maths and English or functional skills level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
    Previous experience of working within a health / care setting
    Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
    Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
    Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
    Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
    Experience of working with people with a mental health diagnosis
    Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting
