    MISSION

    Join our team at Wakam as a Senior Reserving Actuary, where you'll play a critical role in supporting our UK subsidiary with regulatory reporting requirements and building new business. This is a pivotal role for the sub, with significant impact on our business strategy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Determine the level of profitability at the partner level, providing insights to support business decisions.
    • Support the underwriting team in improving terms and conditions for Wakam.
    • Provide timely input to the finance function to produce periodic management accounts.
    • Deliver the technical provisions for Solvency Capital Calculation.
    • Work closely with the Claims and Reinsurance teams to support profitability and achieve desired results.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of reserves.
    Additional Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain reserving models and methodologies, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry best practices related to reserving.
    REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications & Skills:
    • Qualified Actuary with a UK qualification (FIA, FFA, or equivalent) and and several years of post-qualification experience.
    • Experience in reserving for non-life (P&C or retail) insurance, including home, motor, pets, and personal lines.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Tools and experience with actuarial reserving software.
    • Open to diverse/cross-disciplinary experiences, including reserving.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Diplomatic and agile, comfortable with constant change and ambiguity.
    • Innovative thinker, with the ability to think on their feet and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
    • Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to learning and development.
