    The Company:

    Theo James are thrilled to be supporting an automotive partner in its search for a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading automotive company based in Newton Aycliffe. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality are achieved and maintained. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in quality engineering within the automotive industry, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, and have a proven track record of improving processes and product quality.     Salary: 35,000- 40,000

    Shifts: Day shift - 07:00-15:00

    Responsibilities:

    • To to assist in the development and maintain Product Assurance systems ensuring Customer Specific Requirements are fulfilled ( IATF16949 and other specifics )
    • To provide leadership and to develop a culture of defect prevention and waste elimination
    • To be a capable user of core quality tools & techniques and their application, typically: SPC, Ishikawa, Histograms, Pareto Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Stratification etc
    • Support the Internal manufacturing teams with regard to the timely resolution of Customer and Internal quality concerns.
    • Support the NPI teams during the development of Controls Plans, PFMEA, Gauge Planning etc. and highlight potential failure modes ref Lessons Learnt.
    • Support the Internal Audit team by performing various Internal Audits.
    • Understanding and utilisation of Automotive Core tools such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA processes.

    • Provide and communicate Quality/process data to the Senior Teams and facilitate actions to improve.     • CMM Measurement analysis and programming capability to perform routine CMM Measurements along with NPI Capability studies.
    • Support the Quality manager, to manage the activities of Quality Engineers / Lab Supervisors on a day-to-day basis.
    • Proactively visit customer/supplier locations to resolve customer concerns and maintain high levels of customer liaison when required.     Skills and Requirements:

    • A good working knowledge of metal forming and fabrication processes.
    • An appropraite qualification in Mechanical / Production Engineering ( e.g Degree or HNC)
    • Appropriate experience working within Automotive high volume industry role with good working knowledge of IATF16949 / ISO9001
    • Thorough knowledge of APQP,PPAP and PSW documentation and OEM Customer Specific Requirements
    • Knowledge and application of CMM Measurement and Programming
