Internal Communication Specialist - Stevenage, United Kingdom - SRG
Description
SRG are currently looking for an Internal communications Officer for our client who operate in the defence/aerospace arena. This is a hybrid, initial 12 month contract based at their offices in Stevenage.
Role:
The Internal Communications team is a Group function within the Communications Directorate. The team is based across the UK, Italy and France and works to keep all of our 15,000 colleagues informed, engaged and motivated to deliver for our nations and their allies. We work with our colleagues across Communications to protect and enhance the image and company brand.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a busy time for Internal Communications team and we are looking for an Internal Communications Officer with previous experience of working in internal communications in a complex organisation who is keen to apply their skills and broaden their experience.
Working with colleagues in the UK, France, Italy and Germany, the role involves building relationships across the business, and helping stakeholders get messages about their activities out to audiences across the organisation. You'll be developing first rate communications plans, advice and tactics, while also being adaptable to manage changing circumstances while continuing to bear in mind our longer-term goals as a team.
You will need to be able to turn complex information into something understandable for all of our people and have experience of delivering engaging content across a wide range of media and formats. Keen to measure your impact, you will bring fresh perspective and ideas to help us deliver effective internal communications to our people that helps them feel informed, engaged and really feel they belong.
Our ideal candidate will work as part of an international team that is on a journey to transform the way internal communication is delivered in our business. With an open and supportive outlook, we have the pragmatism to focus and prioritise what is most important to the business while also striving to constantly improve what we do and how we do it. Your mindset will be able to balance national requirements and sensitivities with doing what is right for the wider Group internationally. We operate in a unique environment which requires commitment and dedication but provides an opportunity to do some career-defining work for the right person.
Skills/Experience Required:
• Significant previous experience in an internal communications role.
• Strong experience of managing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including senior leaders, and working with different cultures.
• Good planning skills but ability to adapt plans to changing circumstances.
• Exceptional written skills with experience of delivering content in a variety of media and formats.
• Knowledge of editorial and publication processes.
• Ability to introduce process and procedural improvements that help us simplify our approach.
• The ability to deliver short term improvements that take us towards our longer-term vision.
• Committed and dedicated to see things through, with an eagerness to learn and experiment.
• Membership of or qualified by a professional body preferred (eg IoIC/CIPR).
