    Salary/package Up to £82,000 per annum dependent on experience + comprehensive company benefits Location We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to a local Arqiva office up to twice a week. Occasional visits to our Winchester office will also be required. The Platform team is responsible for all on-premises IT Services, as a team we are moving at-pace into agile methodologies and implementing an automation first culture. We require an expert Platform Specialist who can help to develop/lead and continuously improve both our Scrum/Kanban and automation practises. This role would suit someone from a DevOps/Scrum Master background, who is looking to make their mark by producing and feeding into our green-shoots automation and agile initiatives. Ultimately this role is technically hands on, with responsibility for implementing the practises mentioned above into our various configuration and automation tooling environments.
    • Lead the development of an automation first approach, utilising key tooling such as Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Git and Aria Automation.
    • Experience of Agile project methodologies, supporting effort estimations, leading spike activities and showcase presentations.
    • Drive innovation, both small and large, into and through the business; deploy and evidence with outcomes, a continuous improvement (CI) mind-set
    • Mentor members of the team on their technical skills, peer review code standards, commits, and provide training.
    • Participate, Coach and lead in the day-to-day workload of the team, utilising Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum.
    • Provide BAU and Project support to the Digital Delivery team, ensuring availability and reliability of the Platform.
    • Support and manage the on-premises Platform(s), predominantly based on VMware, utilising HCI technologies such as Nutanix and VXrail.
    • Provide SaaS/PaaS Platform lifecycle support to the various hosted product owners.
    • Act as a senior member of the team, mentoring and assisting Platform Engineers with your technical expertise.
    • Develop and maintain standards, technical and user documentation.
    • Managing and responding to incidents and requests, reviewing these for enhancements to our proactive monitoring and service offerings.
    • A proven track record delivering high-performance, high-availability systems
    Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s) Must haves
    • Experience of supporting Enterprise IT Platforms on-premises.
    • Redhat Linux and/or Windows OS experience.
    • Good VMware vSphere experience.
    • Agile tooling Jira, Confluence etc.
    • Experience with Git version control, Gitlab preferred.
    • Scripting Knowledge, Powershell, Javascript or Python preferred.
    • IAC tool expertise Ansible, Terraform, Aria Automation or other automation and config tooling.
    • Ability to attain SC Level Clearance.
    Might haves
    • Understanding of Kubernetes/containerization.
    • Experience in programmatically creating virtual machine images (eg using Packer).
    • Exposure to VMware Aria Suite.
    • Red Hat Satellite.
    • Storage Array experience DELL SAN, DataDomain or Unity knowledge
    • Knowledge of Hyper Converged solutions such as Nutanix/VXrail.
