    Major Recruitment are partnering with an exciting and unique business to recruit a Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis located in Wakefield.

    Acquiring goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery, and to ensure continuity of supply.

    This is an opportunity for somebody with Procurement exposure but wanting that next level up within their career.
    Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets

    Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.

    Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
    Support in monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
    Providing analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
    Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.

    Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.

    Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
    Good working knowledge of ERP/Epicor inventory management.
    Previous or current purchasing experience within a manufacturing industry.
    Flexible approach to work.
    Fluent in Stock control purchase systems.
    Able to travel in the UK or internationally on business.
    Able to attend some meetings out of normal office hours.
