    Watkins Hire is currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer in the West Midlands area.

    Goals and Objectives:

    To provide an exceptionally high standard of service and repair within the HVAC hire sector.

    Installing, maintaining, and servicing large HVAC Rental equipment, to a consistently high standard, whilst complying with all current EH&S Policies and other European & UK legislation.

    Working independently, you will install and also respond to service calls in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring risk assessments are conducted and documented prior to all works to be carried out and completing all work to an agreed high level.

    Responsibilities:

    • Checking equipment that has returned from hire, awaiting inspection, cleaning and servicing equipment by following laid down procedures
    • Completing pre-delivery inspection (PDI) procedures prior to hire and carrying out all safety and electrical tests
    • Carrying out routine maintenance, breakdowns, installs, and deinstallations both within and outside normal working hours
    • Ensure work is undertaken in line with specific method statements, risk assessments and relevant safety legislations
    • Installation/ de-installation and maintenance/servicing of HVAC Rental Equipment
    • Attending and contributing to production meetings and briefings as necessary
    • Drive planning discussions with the customer and any other third parties involved. Report and discuss project or schedule changes with line management
    • To assist in the development and improve processes to improve deliverability, performance, productivity, cost reduction and efficiency
    • Refurbishment of units in the depot - clean, paint, repairs, depot audits compliance, paperwork, and maintaining the depot/equipment to a good standard
    • To initiate and develop effective business relations with new and existing customers
    • To liaise and work effectively with the sales and operations
    • To act quickly where problems arise and to maintain an open system of communication between WHL / CRS and the customer
    • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures
    • Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures
    • Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
    • Fully comply with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk
    • Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE)

    Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:

    • Full (UK) driving license
    • Experience within a Service Engineer role
    • Knowledge of HVAC equipment
    • Commercial burner /boiler experience with both natural gas and oil-fired burners (Desirable)
    • Competent working knowledge of electrics. (Ideally 17th edition IEE wiring regulations) (Desirable)
