    About the job:

    As a Systems / Applications Engineer in Keysight's Aerospace & Defense Custom Solutions (ADCS) group you will work as part of a highly talented and passionate multi-discipline team that develops and delivers world class custom test solutions.

    You will utilize your technical expertise, innate curiosity and creativity to gain a deep understanding of customer needs, map out customer requirements and propose solutions.

    You will architect, design and develop solutions prior to delivery.

    You will ultimately be responsible for designing electronic hardware to interface to and make complex measurements on customer devices (such as radar and satellite systems and subassemblies), leveraging the latest test equipment from Keysight and 3rd parties.

    You will contribute throughout the project lifecycle; from proposal to acceptance and you will frequently and directly collaborate with customers at a technical level.

    ADCS Edinburgh exists primarily to serve European customers. We operate as part of a worldwide team headquartered in Loveland, Colorado. We work with customers on a wide variety of technologies primarily in the radar and satellite domains. We collaborate with Keysight's solutions, sales and services teams to provide differentiated solutions that fit our customers' unique needs.


    Key Requirements:
    Bachelors or Masters Degreein Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)

    Ability to obtain UK Security ClearanceTypically 5+ years relevant experienceWorking knowledge of analog / digital electronics design & testAnalog / high speed digital design principlesSerial / parallel communications standardsSchematic capture, circuit layout fundamentalsDesirable:
    System design experience; for example:Block diagram development against requirementsSystem and sub-system interface definitionTest & Measurement (i.e. using instrumentation)

    Working knowledge of RF design concepts & testTransmitter and receiver design principles; radio propagation and antenna principles; modulationMeasurements:
    Power Meter, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Time Domain, Calibration.

    Software developmentThe successful applicant will also have:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a team and directly with customersA passion and proven ability for practical problem-solvingA methodical and thorough approach to documentation and testKnowledge of project management & business processesThe versatility needed to efficiently switch between activities and adopt roles as each project requires.
