As the Commercial Manager, you'll be accountable for the planning and delivery of a profitable growth plan for Asda within our portfolios as well as ownership of the Asda convenience channel across the full portfolio.
You'll utilise category and consumer insight to influence the customer and delight the shopper at points of purchase to achieve key business targets.
You'll have day to day management of wider business functions (Category, Marketing, Finance and Supply) to ensure the team are all working towards one goal.
Responsibilities:
Generate consumer specific business plans through:o Development and management of joint business planso Use of bespoke category and shopper insighto Full understanding of business performance and key performance driverso Development of profit-based account plans and budgets including identifying the customer's key volume and profit driverso Development of customer specific promotional calendars in line with the Corporate Calendaro Development of a convenience strategy for Asda – utilising best practise from establish customers within the channel and in line with Asda's strategy priorities for the channelMonitoring portfolio effectiveness via the company tool kit / reporting system and feed learnings into the category, RGM, customer marketing and customer finance teamsManage customer product mix and align with strategic brand and category guidelinesUpdate sales and gross profit forecastsAccountabilities:Delivering profitable growth for the account over a sustained periodDriving visibility and availability of SKUs within the customer.
Graduate calibre but degree not a pre-requisite3+ years' experience of account managementSales Skills – has a structured selling process and can conduct portfolio negotiationsA category and customer first mind-set.
Communication – Is influential and builds effective cross functional links both internally and externallyP&L Analysis and course correction – can interpret data and use to a commercial advantage.
Is able to scenario plan against internal budgets and understands key cost drivers.Will see reality and take the appropriate decision / action decisivelyTeamwork – Can coach a team and develop individualsDelivery motivation, enhancing potential, impact and influence, leadership qualities.
Demonstrates the ability to challenge the status quo (in the right way) ability to work accurately at paceThe role offers hybrid working.
Based in their West Yorkshire office.Up to £60k + car or allow + 25% bonus + benefits.
