    Would you like to get involved in undertaking the challenge of delivering a quality, forward thinking service within a community and primary care setting?

    Do you want to become a pivotal decision maker in the Community and influence the direction of community adult nursing?

    If so, we are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic, innovative and motivated Registered Nurses to undertake the Specialist Practitioner Qualification District Nurse course.

    Main duties of the job

    The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

    To apply you will need:

  • To be a Registered Nurse with a range of post basic qualification with community nursing experience?
  • Have significant evidence of undertaking Higher Education at Level 6 or above in the past years
  • Have evidence of professional development in your clinical area
  • Have 2 years experience of community working.
  • Be dedicated to work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team, patients, family and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes
  • Be ready to develop clinical leadership skills to improve healthcare delivery
  • Be able to demonstrate your understanding of current practice and policy issues relating to your chosen area of practice

    The post is funded by Health Education England (Funding subject to approval). Salary: You will be paid to the same grade you are currently paid at within CNWL.

    Fixed term sponsorship to Specialist Community Practitioner studentship from September 2023 to August 2024.

    The course will be 50% theory and 50% practical and will focus on: clinical nursing practice, care and programme management, clinical practice development and clinical practice leadership.

    Please be aware that as of Sept 2024, the SPQ DN will only be available as a Level 7 course.

  • The post of Specialist Community Practitioner Sponsorship Student is a development post building on existing knowledge, skills and competencies to achieve a higher level of practice resulting in an academic qualification as well as a recordable/registerable qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

    You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
