- Be a clinical specialist in peri-operative nursing/operating department practice, managing a designated Theatre area and maintaining clinical standards.
- Lead a specialist clinical team, providing top-quality clinical management, advice, support, and teaching within the theatre environment.
- Manage staff and resources operationally, taking the lead in a specific aspect of Theatre operational management.
- Post Registration qualification in Theatre, Anaesthetic or Recovery Course, or a leadership course

An exciting opportunity is available at Theatres in King George Hospital for a role as a Theatre Ophthalmology Surgery Senior Sister or Senior Charge Nurse, where you can enhance your leadership and management skills. Essential experience as a scrub Nurse in Ophthalmology surgery is required for this position. We are proud to be recognized as an established Surgical Elective Hub among the 8 Trusts in the NHS. Our department features cutting-edge technology, including the Da Vinci robotic General, colorectal, upper GI, Urology, Gyanecology surgeries, and the Stryker Orthopaedic robot for joint replacement surgeries across our 7 Operating Theatres. With an additional 2 newly built state-of-the-art operating Theatres, we are continuously expanding our surgical elective hub.
As a senior Theatre Practitioner with expertise in various specialties, you will contribute to integrated clinical leadership, providing top-notch care to patients in the Operating Theatre environment under the mentorship of the Theatre Matron. Join our supportive theatre team where learning is encouraged, and our Education Team is dedicated to supporting your professional and educational growth. We offer a comprehensive training and development program for all staff.
