    We are currently recruiting for an ambitious, passionate, and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our well-established team at Coxlease School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous experience within an SEN school, or qualified Teacher looking to take the next step in their career.

    Set in the heart of the beautiful and picturesque New Forest in Hampshire, Coxlease School is an independent specialist day school recently awarded 'Good' overall with 'Outstanding' features for behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and sixth-form provision by Ofsted.

    As an Assistant Headteacher you will need to:

  • Have successful teaching experience
  • Show that you are an inspirational leader
  • Be an outstanding creative practitioner with a genuine interest in cognitive behaviour and learning development in students with a diagnosis of ASD
  • Show enthusiasm and eagerness to progress
  • Have a detailed knowledge of teaching and learning and an ability to move the practice of others forward
  • Have the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills to connect successfully with parents and the wider community

    The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher and ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN, along with the following characteristics:

    Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
    Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
    Organisation – You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.
    Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
    Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital
