    AtkinsRéalis Transportation Division provides a wide range of consultancy services across our Strategic Rail, Strategic Highways and Local Transport markets. Our work covers the capital development lifecycle, across the public and private sector, both in the UK and overseas.

There may be opportunities to work out of other UK offices or client offices, where the need arises, to meet the demands of fluctuating workloads.

    The Role:

    This is permanent role for a Commercial Manager to join the Transportation Project Delivery Practice (PDP) Commercial team.

  • The successful candidate would have experience in Commercial and/ or Project management ideally within a consultancy environment delivering professional services.
  • They should understand how to balance risk, opportunity, and financial returns.
  • The successful candidate will report to the PDP Project Controls and Commercial Director and be responsible for a portfolio of projects/programmes.
  • They will become an integral member of a growing commercial team.
  • As a commercial leader, you'll be part of the Project Delivery commercial team and work alongside Project Teams and relevant Market Commercial Directors to focus on commercially supporting delivery excellence and in year performance (revenue, cash, and EBIT) as well as supporting growth in the market.
  • The role will be responsible for both pre- and post- contract commercial management.
  • The Right Person:

    Essential Criteria:

  • Appropriate Degree and/or appropriate professional qualification in a Construction or Professional Services role (e.g., MICE, MRICS, MCInstCES etc).
  • Experience in a commercial management role from main contractor or consultancy backgrounds.
  • Experience in contract management and change control.
  • Experience in managing the preparation and review of Earned Value Management, manage the preparation of the monthly PSR (CVR) and associated commercial reports.
  • Familiarity with common Forms of Contract (particularly, experience in managing NEC & NEC PSC).
  • Establish client supply chain requirements and advise on alternative forms of contract & procurement arrangements.
  • Capable of working independently as well as demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
