    Main duties of the job We are looking for an experienced registered nurse to take a Band 7 Senior Sister post in Tottenham Hale Kidney and Diabetic Centre a standalone satellite of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.The post holder will be expected to be a positive role model for our outpatient team of nurses, nursing assistants and administrative staff.The post holder must be confident, driven to undertake hands on clinical work and have evidence of continuing professional and personal development.Must have excellent communication and people management skills with a commitment to providing high standard of care.

    To demonstrate clinical expertise in practice for at least 60% of time in own clinical area and 40% supervision and development of all staff including student nurses and support workers, providing support, advice and training.     • 1st level registration with NMC
    • First level Degree in Nursing or working towards
    • Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification
    • Post registration qualification relevant to specialty
    Desirable
    • Advanced clinical assessment skills
    Experience Essential
    • oSubstantial post-registration experience in area of renal specialty.
    • oPrevious experience of research and audit
    • oRecent senior nursing experience in a renal/heamodialysis setting
    • oCurrent / relevant experience in teaching, mentoring and staff development.
    • oProven evidence of improving the patient experience
    Desirable
    • oExperience of leading and managing teams
    Skills and Aptitudes Essential
    • Skills and knowledge in managing and supporting patients with complex health needs
    • Knowledge of current advances and pathways of care relevant to specialty
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence.
    • Skilled in use of computer/keyboard
    • Ability to problem-solve and prioritise, and to work to deadlines
    • Ability to motivate staff and improve individuals and team performance.
    • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with different teams
    • Demonstrates evidence of knowledge and ability to undertake change management
    • Able to manage stressful situations and challenge decisions to ensure that patient needs are met
