    Description

    NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

    The shift pattern is 5 days Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Charge Nurse within the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department based at the QEUH.

    The post holder will support the Senior Charge Nurse and will undertake a lead role in the development, co-ordination and delivery of a specialised nurse led ankle ORIF and achilles tendon service. Learning development of pathways and protocols for nursing documentation and patient advice. Be responsible for staff training and support for this service.

    Work independently within and develop Specialist nurse led clinics and develop protocols of care.

    On a daily basis you will be responsible for ensuring that you lead your team promoting and providing a high quality care.

    You will ensure appropriate learning opportunities are met for all staff, encouraging best practice to deliver a high quality of patient care at all times.

    You will demonstrate excellent leadership, confident communication and effective organisational skills.

    It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have significant post registration experience with relevant managerial and clinical experience within an Orthopaedic outpatient environment.

    Completion of casting course and knowledge of Virtual Fracture clinics is desirable.

    Hours will be worked over 5 days Monday through to Friday.
