    Prospero Teaching is in search of an enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience to inspire and assist students at one of our outstanding Primary Schools in Wallsend. The position is available to commence either immediately or from September 2024, depending on the availability of the successful candidate.

    This position will involve working with students with diverse SEN and tough behavior, so the successful candidate must be a resilient practitioner with exceptional relationship-building skills.

    It's a full-time role for the entire 2024/2025 Academic Year. The School offers opportunities from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Key Stage 2 (KS2), depending on the preference and expertise of the successful candidate. For the right candidate, there’s a strong possibility of the position turning into a permanent one. Working hours are from 08:30 to 16:00.

    The primary responsibilities include assisting students in their learning journey and effectively communicating with Class Teachers to implement suitable strategies tailored to individual student needs and learning preferences, enabling them to actively participate in their education and make notable progress.

    This is a role that entails:

    • Assisting students with challenging behavior and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
    • Effectively managing challenging behavior in a constructive, proactive, and consistent manner.
    • Establishing positive relationships with Class Teachers to assist students and collaborate on strategies and educational initiatives to enhance student progress.
    • Preparing educational materials for lessons.
    • Supervising students during breaks and lunchtimes as necessary.
    • Adopting a practical approach to assisting students in their educational journey, demonstrating willingness to interact, engage, and establish positive connections with students.

    This role necessitates:

    • An Enhanced DBS check (preferably registered with the Update Service, but not mandatory as we can arrange a new one for you).
    • A recognized Teaching Assistant qualification. Preferably Level 3, although Level 2 will also be considered.
    • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in UK schools.
    • The ability to establish positive relationships and rapport with students and colleagues.
    • A resilient, proactive, and optimistic attitude.
    • Abundant enthusiasm, energy, and positivity while working with students.
    • A genuine dedication to supporting young individuals in achieving their potential and thriving academically.
    • Enthusiasm and willingness to engage with students and foster positive relationships with them.
