    Main duties of the job

    JOB PUROSE

    Tomanage patient flow through Alliance Care.Ensuring all patient contacts are filtered to the correct team. Transfer Patient Detail to EMIS where thepatient has NHS Login.

Sunderland GP Alliance, a non-for-profit organisation owned by the citys GPs and representing over 250,000 patients, is part of that vision. Over the last few years, we have strived to improve services for patients and staff, developing and implementing ambulatory ECG, the management of post-bariatric services in the community, decision making and referral support software for GPs, a clinical pharmacy service for thirteen member practices, and post discharge clinics that reduce the administration burden on surgeries.

    Job responsibilities

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    To identify and prioritise contacts via the artificial intelligence solution to indicate the priority and urgency of cases to practice staff.

    To support Alliance Care clinicians to allocate appointments according to clinical need to provide equitable access to care.

    To cross check information transferred into the patient's medical records.

    To filter out admin queries and forward to relevant team for further action.

    To monitor methods of patient access via Alliance Care reporting functionality

    To support patients to enable them to use their preferred method of choice to access Alliance Care , via website, telephone, or face to face.

    To promote and support sign up to NHS App for all patient's using Alliance Care.

    To maintain the computer clinical filing system in an accurate and secure manner.

    As a superuser you will be expected to provide training and support to extended staff.

    To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.

    Essential

  • Trustworthy and discreet you will see a great deal of highly sensitive information and the maintenance of absolute patient confidentiality is essential.
  • IT literate you will be comfortable operating with standard MS Office software (fully competent in MS Word, competent in MS Excel and will learn and become skilled in the use of specialist medical, scanning, document management and coding software (training provided).
  • Diligent - a high level of accuracy is required as the data inputting relates to vital clinical and other confidential information used in patient care. Errors could result in harm to patients.
  • Literate - A high standard of written English will be demonstrated and you will learn medical terminology and develop a working knowledge of some of the concepts behind the words.
  • Self-management You will manage your own workload efficiently and alert your line manager if any backlogs develop. You will work in a timely manner and prioritise appropriately.

  • Educated to good GCSE / A level standard or equivalent including English Language and mathematics and a minimum of two years experience of working in an office administration role
  • Admin/IT experience
  • EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all matters
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
