- Design highly available, redundant, public cloud architectures, utilising IaaS and PaaS, for large scale, mission critical applications and high-transaction workloads
- Design and implement new capabilities that address gaps and provide an integrated end-to-end scalable enterprise-class service.
- Provide innovation, research and development expertise to City, including proof of concepts and TDA workshops.
- Mentor and coach more junior team members and contribute as a peer to discussions across the team.
- Work closely with product development teams, analysts, developers and business stakeholders to implement production-ready infrastructure services that support their requirements.

- Manage and leverage partner solutions and relationships.
- Support the resourcing plan for the team, extending to in/outsourcing to ensure a complete change and run service is in place and capable.
- Help set team goals and technical direction while ensuring they align with the goals of the Technology and Information Security roadmap.
- Proactive collaboration and management of partners delivering new, evolving or out-tasked services, e.g. Cisco networking, Cyber Defence, Microsoft Azure
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring for more junior team members and team members as required.

The Vacancy
JOB PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of the Cloud Infrastructure Architect is to work with IT and business leaders in providing a holistic transformation vision and to determine the impact & outcomes that a project will deliver. They will also own the evaluation, design and implementation of the technology solution / infrastructure service. The incumbent will tackle any issues related to operational effectiveness, business change, security, integrity and performance all in line with the required business environment and needs.
