    Job Profile:

    We are seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer to join our global team in designing solutions for monitoring, troubleshooting, and gathering telemetry from Equinix's worldwide network.

    The ideal candidate will have experience designing robust architectures for handling big data, establishing standards for engineering teams to follow, and ensuring software quality.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design operational Metrics (SNMP/gNMI/RESTful-based Telemetry).
    • Lead, coach, and mentor developers, network engineers, and DevOps teams.
    • Participate in architectural reviews and develop architectures for real-time Distributed Data API systems.
    • Establish standards, frameworks, and best practices for the team.
    • Evaluate and recommend adoption of new technologies.
    • Participate in technical integration and peer reviews.
    • Manage customer relationships and collaborate with product stakeholders.
    • Define and plan multiple projects in coordination with project managers and product teams.

    Skills & Experience:

    Software Design & Architecture:

    • Strong coding and programming knowledge.
    • Leadership skills in mentoring and coaching team members.
    • Experience with microservices architectures and data streaming technologies.
    • Knowledge of essential programming languages.
    • Experience in delivering large-scale systems with big data technologies.

    DevOps Engineering:

    • Strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience with distributed systems and Linux environments.
    • Knowledge of virtualization and containerization.
    • Experience with Configuration Management tools and CI/CD processes.
    • Proficiency with Secrets Management processes and tooling.

    Networking:

    • Experience in Networking and Routing is a plus.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of IT experience as a Backend engineer.
    • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership and designing data streaming solutions.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
