    Description
    Systems Accountant

    My client is the market looking for an experienced Systems Accountant. In this role, you will report into the Finance Systems Manager and will work closely with senior colleagues in Finance, IS Business Systems and in other Professional Services departments to ensure coordinated, timely and appropriate delivery of all systems accounting requirements and you will work with the existing team to support projects and other aspects of financial reporting and forecasting. The role is key in ensuring that all financial systems and processes provide financial and management reports which efficiently meet the needs of key stakeholders. You should be educated to degree level, ideally with membership of a recognised accounting professional body and have extensive post-qualification experience. A strong accounting background in a large, complex organisation with extensive financial systems experience is essential. Enthusiasm, commitment, and strong collaborative interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of problem-solving and decision making will make the role a success.

    Essential Skills:
    • Membership of a recognised CCAB (or equivalent) accounting professional body.
    • Substantial experience in accounting and financial systems roles in a large complex organisation.
    • Technical experience of developing, maintaining, and using complex financial systems and resolving system issues.
    • Experience in implementation and upgrading financial systems.
    • Experience of Unit 4 ERP (Agresso) and/or iTrent systems.
    • Excellent written and presentation skills, able to present complex financial information to a wide audience, including non-financial colleagues, clearly and comprehensively.
    • High level of IT skills, including advanced expertise of the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to structure, analyse and interpret complex financial data.
    • Experience of wider reporting tools such as Excelerator, Information Browser, Business Objects.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. at all levels of the organisation - influence effectively to negotiate any perceived barriers or constraints to support the achievement agreed objectives and challenge constructively where required.
