Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Newport, UK is currently seeking applicants for a Semiconductor Reliability Engineer for our Silicon Carbide development.
As a Semiconductor Reliability Engineer SiC, you will contribute to the success of Vishay through working together with a talented staff of engineering professionals to develop and enable innovative wide bandgap semiconductor technology to realize the next generations of Vishay's proprietary power device product portfolio.
Develop test and characterization methodologies for silicon carbide power semiconductor devices to understand their reliability and failure mechanisms in operation.
Develop screening and burn-in procedures for SiC power devices to meet product quality requirements.Lead and contribute to development projects, presenting results to senior management / external stakeholders (including non-technical staff).
Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including Technology Development, Quality Assurance and academic collaborators.
You will have a comprehensive, demonstrable background in power semiconductors / semiconductor physics and/or electronics engineering.
You will approach tasks in a logic-based way, along with having the ability and motivation to develop novel and creative ideas.
Your communication skills will enable seamless collaboration both with our manufacturing partners and internally, and you will know how to build and maintain lasting relationships in international and cross-functional project teams.
A PhD or Masters-level degree in electronics engineering, physics or any other microelectronics-related field;At least 3 years of post-graduation experience in the field of semiconductor technology;
Experience in reliability testing of SiC MOSFETs and diodes, both at wafer- and package-level;
A good understanding of statistical analysis and design of experiments;
Knowledge of semiconductor TCAD tools for device simulation, i.e. Background in electronics engineering for system understanding in the field of power electronics.
