    Environmental Advisor
    Salary – up to £45,000 + car allowance

    We are presently seeking a seasoned Environmental Advisor to join a railway alliance tasked with executing a renewals portfolio spanning the next decade.

    As the accomplished Environmental Advisor, your role entails furnishing comprehensive support and guidance to operational teams across the spectrum of environmental management.

    This encompasses the development of environmental documentation, ensuring alignment with both legal mandates and corporate standards, and fostering a culture of perpetual enhancement.

    You'll adeptly engage with Clients and Regulators, ensuring seamless compliance with their environmental imperatives.

    Furthermore, you'll be instrumental in on-site mitigation efforts, promoting the sustainability of projects, and facilitating meaningful engagement with local stakeholders and the wider public.

    As an Environmental Advisor you will:


    • Spearhead impactful environmental projects aimed at enhancing value and promoting ecological enrichment.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration with clients, regulatory authorities, and subcontractors to address environmental management and sustainability concerns.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive environmental management plans and conduct regular updates to environmental risk assessments.
    • Offer on-site counsel to operations and design teams regarding environmental management strategies, ensuring compliance and implementing project-specific mitigation measures such as pollution control and ecology preservation.
    • Investigate environmental incidents meticulously, aiding the business in implementing preventative measures to mitigate the risk of recurrence.
    Possession of an environment or science-related degree or its equivalent qualification.


    • Certification by IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment).
    • Track record in identifying and effectively managing environmental risks associated with construction projects, alongside monitoring the efficacy of control measures.
    • Demonstrated comprehension of UK environmental legislation, with the ability to discern the necessity for environmental consents and authorisations.
    • Experience conducting environmental site-based inspections and/or audits.
