    Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum.

    This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed.

    The role includes supporting the clinical physiology team in the provision of cardiac and respiratory investigations along with working independently to provide routine patient monitoring and diagnostic investigations.

    The successful applicant will need excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with general public, ideally in a healthcare setting.

    We invite applications from candidates who are passionate about healthcare science with an interest in joining our team to deliver an effective and efficient service.

    To assist in the provision of a high quality Cardio-respiratory service by providing routine investigations and support complex procedures.

    These investigations include independently performing Electrocardiograms, non-invasive blood pressure and pulse oximetry, spirometry and assisting in the delivery of the ambulatory monitoring service.

    In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to support qualified clinical physiologists in complex procedures such as transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography.

    The role is permanent, part-time post with opportunity to work flexible hours within the working week.

    Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.

    Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.

    We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:


    Seven community hospitals:
    and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
    48 general practices (six of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
    Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

    Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

    Minimum 3 GCSE or equvalent, to include English, Maths and Science
    Society of Cardiological Science and Technology award in Practical Electrocardiography (or working towards, or equivalent local assessment)
    Society of Cardiological Science and Technology Certificate in Electrocardiography (or working towards, or equivalent local assessment)
    ARTP/BTS Foundation Certificate in Spirometry (or working towards, or equivalent local assessment)
    Qualification Credit Framework Level 2 or 3 (or working towards)
    Core Health Care Support Worker Training
    Experience of working in healthcare environment
    Experience working as a Healthcare Science Assistant
    Language Skills
    ~ Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
