Description
Completion of daily derivative operations retained services / tasks are managed effectively and are in line with market and regulatory deadlines and best practice.
Proactively working with stakeholders, and third party providers (Brokers, Custodians, Fund Accountants) to ensure all asset services activities are managed.
To monitor and reconcile daily collateral positions with Investment Manager and Custodian and ensure sufficient liquidity availability, for daily margin calls.
Assist third parties with agreed retained services delivery for the respective service area.Monitor the daily & weekly service delivery KPI / KRIs and escalate issues accordingly.
Proactive ownership and investigation of queries/issues that may arise, escalating and reporting any inconsistences to supervisor or manager in a timely manner.
Proactively identify control weaknesses relating to derivative operations services operating model and recommend and implement procedural and process change.
Ensure end to end understanding of all operational tasks and how they relate and impact all processes. Ensure standard ways of working are applied consistently.Create procedures that reflect processes polices and any workflows that are needed to support the asset services process and activities for retained and outsourced services.
Manage operational risk and issues within team and outsourced provider, regularly review and identify further opportunities for risk mitigation.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive the development of the model (focus on enhancing control effectiveness and efficiency).Participate in weekly service provider updates which focuses on service fulfilment and escalated issues.
Contribute to the risk management function of Utmost Life and Pensions.
Maintain competence and fitness and propriety standards to the level required by the Company's regulators.
Provide Utmost Life and Pensions with access to any evidence of competence, fitness and propriety reasonably required, for example permission to carry out DBS and credit history checks.
Comply with the FCA's conduct (and senior conduct) and Consumer Duty rules and the PRA's conduct (and senior manager conduct) standards.

Excellent investment background preferably within a Life Insurance company, Investment Manager or Consultancy supporting BPAs.
Experience managing relationships with a range of third parties and Investment Managers, preferably external.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including Board level, and to motivate a team of technical staff to deliver according to agreed plans and timescales.
Good presentation, communication, delegation, negotiation and conflict management skills.Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Excellent planner and organiser, pragmatic, adaptable and flexible.
Experience and Qualifications:
Experience in the asset management/investment industry.
Good knowledge and experience of life assurance and pensions business –understanding of bulk purchase annuities desirable but not essential.
Good experience of the regulatory environment and industry awareness in the UK for life offices and working with the regulators.
Strong customer, stakeholder and people management skills.Strong project management skills.
