    Description

    We are currently seeking a high-level professional to take on the role of Director in our advisory services focusing on energy policy, regulation, and achieving net zero at ICF. As a successful candidate, you will leverage your extensive senior experience in engaging with clients and leading consulting projects, preferably with Ofgem and related UK government departments. You'll become a vital part of our diverse, dynamic team, all dedicated to tackling the most intricate challenges faced by the UK government.

    About the Job:

    • Lead the expansion of our consulting services in the UK, specializing in technology, energy, and net zero. Emphasis will be placed on exploring opportunities in DESNZ and Ofgem, including advancing capture for initiatives that mirror Defra MEL's success in scaling up ICF's UK operations.
    • Establish and maintain a proactive partnership with Ofgem to maximize the benefits of the recent framework contract award.
    • Take a significant role in bolstering the Defra account by utilizing MEL to enhance ICF's strategic client engagements and prepare ICF for the upcoming recompetition of the Defra Managing Consulting framework contract.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Cultivate client relationships to comprehend and address their requirements.
    • Lead consulting projects, overseeing project teams.
    • Create proposals for new projects, which involves team-building, method development, and budgeting.
    • Supervise project budgets, teams (including subcontractors), and ensure the delivery of project outputs to various clients.
    • Mentor and nurture junior team members.

    Qualifications for Success:

You should be self-driven, capable of managing diverse responsibilities efficiently and meeting deadlines without compromising quality. Your background may include experience in consultancy, government roles, regulatory bodies, or the private sector.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of fifteen years of relevant professional experience.
    • Proficiency in UK energy policy and/or energy regulation.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Experience in managing large, intricate projects and teams.
    • Proven history in proactive client interaction and leading competitive bids.
    • Ability to develop and communicate expertise on specific topics.
    • Comprehensive understanding of qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies strengths and limitations.
    • Relevant university degree.
