    Job summary

    The ClinicalQuality Lead will work as an integral part of the Chief Nurse and Allied HealthProfessions Team across all Inpatient and Community Team areas providingleadership and clinical expertise to support assurance there are robust andeffective systems in place for monitoring, reviewing and sustaining the qualityand safety of all Trust clinical services.

    The post holderwill be responsible for ensuring that within their role Trust Clinical Strategy ambitions and Seven Safety Programmes are central as they champion best practicestandards. Central to the role will be implementing actions to clearly definedaudit standards, gaining assurance, promoting Quality Improvement methodologyand innovation. Role modelling and driving high standards of patient experiencethat meet the Care Quality Commission Fundamentals of clinical care will be acore part of this role along with regulatory compliance.

    Main duties of the job

    They will work to a consistently high standard by role modelling professional, positive and supportive interactions with staff and patients at all times. The scope of role will include working alongside staff across the Trust in implementing and supporting agreed audits, tests of change and patient safety initiatives with aquality improvementapproach. The Care Quality CommissionNursing Fundamentalswill also be a central element to this role as these standards of clinical practice are embedded in all work across the Trust.

    Working closely and collaboratively with clinical services to address quality of clinical care using soft and hard intelligence to assess this will be an essential aspect of the role. Identifying risks, ensuring services have mitigations in place and their implementation is monitored effectively. They will also provide professional support, reflective practice opportunities and expertise to the Risk Team and work collaboratively with the Trust Patient Safety Lead.

    Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of collaborative working across multiple organisational and agency boundaries to achieve demonstrable outcomes and improvements in the quality of care/patient experience.
  • Significant experience of working in the NHS (or equivalent) including working in all care settings (community and inpatient) within depth understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy
  • In depth understanding and knowledge in the Care Quality Commissions standards Key Lines of Enquiry and the Nursing Fundamentals.
  • Excellent skills in overseeing and managing budgets, cost pressures, cost improvement plans and achieving maximum cost efficiency for the Trust
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Professional RMN qualification, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with demonstrated post registration professional development and appropriate experience.
  • Degree, or equivalent experience with masters degree or equivalent higher level demonstration of competency.
  • Post registered Qualification and/or evidence of continued professional development.
  • Desirable

  • Professional Nurse Advocate qualification
  • Knowledge & Skills

    Essential

  • Contemporary knowledge of policy and practice relating to mental health policy, guidance and national ambitions.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical quality, risk management, complaints management and statutory requirements.
  • Understanding current professional nursing and Allied Health Professionals policy and MDT agenda
  • Astute and capable ability to place the long-term health, social care and well-being needs of patient first
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination across the Trust.
  • Ability to recognise concerns in clinical practice, others judgement and decision making, with follow up a clear understanding of their responsibilities, actions and decisiveness
  • Physical Skills

    Essential

  • Ability to be mobile across a geographical area when prioritising clinical visits, meetings and events attendance.
