    This position gives the candidate exposure to the whole remit of Global Settlements, including the complete trade lifecycle from order inception through to final settlement of stock and cash across a variety of asset classes and markets e.g., Local Domestic / DTC / Euroclear-Equities / Bonds / ETFS.

    Contract Duration: 7 months
    • You will be joining a team of nine.
    • Primarily your job role will be assisting all aspects of Global Settlements, with cross training being an ongoing priority within the team.
    • You will be familiar with Operations' foreign settlements and ideally have knowledge of FIGARO our operating system, however experience with this software is not mandatory.
    • You will have an understanding of General trade amendments and mailbox monitoring with the ability to formulate detailed written responses.
    • Monitoring checking/failed reports, identifying, investigating, and resolving all settlement issues and liaising with relevant market makers via e-mail as necessary
    • As this is a high-volume desk with tight daily deadlines you must have the ability to work accurately under time pressures, time management and organisational skills are also a key part of the role, being able to prioritise tasks.
    • A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is needed. (Excel)
    • Error analysis, resolution, implementation and liaising with the relevant departments.
    • Analysis and management of reconciliation breaks to resolution.
    • This is a high-risk department in relation to client money and stock, knowledge and following of industry wide rules (CASS/CAR/CAO) to support compliance and audit processes and escalating issues is required.
    • Understanding FX and the ability to calculate percentages.
    • Assisting with Foreign Settlement queries.
    • The Systems we use Nexen /Figaro/Neo Link/Citi/CACEIS.

    Additionally, the below will ensure success in this role.
    • Operational settlements knowledge.
    • Ideally you will have knowledge of FIGARO our operating system, however experience with this software is preferable not mandatory.
    • This is a high-volume desk with tight daily deadlines therefore the ability to work accurately under time pressure is crucial, additionally time management and organisational skills are also key.
    • A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is needed, with a focus on Excel/Outlook/MS Teams
    • Good knowledge of percentage calculations and general numerical formula's.
