    Location - Crawley (Hybrid/Remote)

    The Role

    The Engineering Environments (E2) team is a key enabler for Thales engineers. As part of the E2 team, you would be responsible for supporting and improving core engineering applications and tools, vital to our business.

    We work using agile methodologies meaning the team decides how they work with a mix of SCRUM and Kanban amongst our current squads. This offers you a high level of responsibility and autonomy in the work that you do and you will have a strong voice in how the team works.

    As a developer in the E2 team, you will have a key role in modernising our portfolio of engineering applications and tools by designing, implementing and automating our environments deployment techniques. You will also be supporting our most important programmes by underpinning the tooling that all Thales UK engineers use on a daily basis

    Key Responsibilities

    In this role you would be responsible for
    • Migrating current our current environments to modern deployment methods utilising Ansible, Docker and Pipelines
    • Deploying new future Engineering Environments using Kubernetes (K8s) on an Azure platform in support of the LEWIS program
    • Development of new deployment methodologies
    • Supporting life cycle events of current applications and tools
    • Support your team through the automation of tasks and improvements to our processes and practices to streamline our efforts & improve quality of service
    • Developing new add-ons and customisations where off the shelf options are lacking
    Your Skills and Experience

    Applicants should be skilled problem solvers and be able and willing to share knowledge with others in the team and within our user base to grow skills and mitigate risks

    Experience with the below is essential
    • Containerization: Kubernetes (K8s), Docker or similar
    • CI/CD and Pipelines
    • Jfrog Platform (Artifactory/XRay)
    • Ansible
    • Git
    • Linux (Specifically RedHat though experience with any distribution will suffice)
    Administration experience in some or all of the following is desirable
    • Attlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
    • Jfrog Platform (Artifactory/XRay)
    • GitLab
