    Senior Project Manager (Defra Capital Lead)

    The Estates Projects Team are seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of the Defra Capital programme across Kew and Wakehurst Place.

    The Estates Projects Team play a key part in this ambition delivering a multimillion-pound programme of new build, conservation, refurbishment and decarbonisation projects, across a diverse, complex historic estate.

    The Senior Project Manager (Defra Capital Lead), plays key role in the planning and delivery of capital projects and the day-to-day management of the Defra Capital Programme, and by project managing the larger and more complex projects. The post holder will be a highly skilled project manager with experience planning and delivering projects within the historic environment, and on sites that are open to the public. They will also have experience of working as part of a wider estates team and have a sound understanding of estates management and project planning.

    We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of project delivery and with significant technical, estates project management experience. You will have previously led multidisciplinary project teams of external consultants and internal experts and will be able to demonstrate experience of driving high-quality projects/design whilst achieving value for money.

    The role calls for an individual who is highly enthusiastic, committed, and willing and able to operate at both a strategic and operational level. You will have exceptional interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to have credibility and gain confidence from a diverse range of influential stakeholders.
