    Structural CAD Technician

    The Company:

    Job Title: Structural CAD Technician

    Location: Manchester

    Job Description:

    We are looking for a skilled Structural CAD Technician with experience in drafting building structures, below ground drainage, and highways. We also welcome applications from recent structural engineering graduates with prior technician experience.


    Role Description and Duties:

    As part of the structural engineering design team, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings for building structures, foundations, drainage, and highways using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Experience in Tekla Structures is advantageous. The role may also involve some structural design tasks under the supervision of senior staff members.

    • Production and management of drawings reporting to senior engineers or project directors.
    • Proficiency in Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla Structural Designer.
    • Preparation of bar bending schedules for reinforced concrete structures.
    • Site visits for detailed inspections to ensure compliance with design drawings.
    • Coordinating with design professionals to meet client briefs and other consultants' information.
    • Assistance with project and office administration.
    • Engineering calculations to support design solutions.

    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Experience in detailing/designing steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
    • Technical experience relevant to the role.
