    Your New Role

    Survitec Group has a new opportunity for you to join our team in Ellesmere Port. In this integral role, you will be responsible for delivering Product Safety engineering activities, documentation, and outputs to support Engineering Projects under the direction of the Head of Product Safety or the Engineering Director. Your role will also involve providing essential support to 3rd party organizations handling Product Safety activities. Additionally, you will contribute to the development, continuous improvement, and delivery of product safety processes and systems, aiming to enhance safety performance and reporting.

    What You Can Expect from the Role

    Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Provide Product Safety knowledge and expertise for multiple defense projects.
  • Deliver Product Safety documentation, facilitating related activities such as HAZID workshops and risk assessments.
  • Support Engineering Change Requests concerning their impact on Product Safety.
  • Generate Product Safety Statements in response to Issues and Occurrences.
  • Respond to Non-Conformances and Customer Complaints with Product Safety considerations.
  • Contribute to Product Safety Meetings and Boards.
  • Support continuous improvement of Product Safety processes and activities.
  • Participate in safety audits internally and externally.
  • Offer Product Safety support and expertise to new business proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, Company, and department procedures.
  • Manage project interfaces with other key technical areas.
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of a Product Safety culture across all business areas.
  • The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have

    Essential Criteria:

  • Understanding of Product Safety Management and Engineering Principles.
  • Ability to operate within a Product Safety Management System with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to conduct and manage Hazard Risk Identification & Management.
  • Proficiency in safety risk evaluation processes integrated with the system engineering process.
  • Deliver supporting information (Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, .
  • Methodical approach, attention to detail, and technical writing skills.
  • Data analysis methods pertinent to the job role.
  • Qualifications and Core Skills :

  • Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in Flight Equipment or general aircraft design and certification.
  • Completed education/training of AS9100, EASA Part 21 Subpart G & J, and UK MAA DAOS.
  • Working knowledge of Def Stan 00-56, Mil Stan 882, and the ALARP Principles.
  • Critical Skills:

  • Expertise in Product Safety (Level 4 – Expert/SME Practitioner).
  • Safety Assessment Reports.
  • Hazard Identification.
  • IT Literacy.
  • Clear and independent communication.
  • Project Planning (MS Project).
  • Company Procedures.
  • Risk Assessments.
  • ISO AS9100 Awareness.
  • Design Reviews.
  • Change Control.
  • Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in key disciplines:
  • FMEA / FMECA.
  • Hazard Identification and Hazard Log preparation, review, and approval.
  • Participation in Contract and Design Reviews.
  • Organization of Hazard Working Groups.
  • Knowledge of UK MOD DAOS and EASA Part 21G&J approval requirements.
  • Maintain a committed position towards Product Safety Management & Engineering procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage the creation of safety procedures and systems.
  • Proactive design, planning, and execution of work.
  • Track record in the preparation and review of safety management plans and safety assessment reports.
  • Clear and transparent communication to senior management.
