    Consultant Project Manager - Liverpool, United Kingdom - Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust

    The creation of Alder Hey Futures is our commitment to working on the advancement of paediatric health care for children and young people and delivering pioneering solutions and outcomes.

    We are seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial thinker to work with Alder Hey Innovation as part of Alder Hey Futures to project manage and support us Co-creating Future Healthcare.

    You will be a natural people person able to get along with all walks of life, have a make things happen attitude and be agile and output driven in your work.

    We are looking for particular knowledge of the healthcare innovation funding landscape (e.g. NIHR, Innovate UK, SBRI), as well as experience of leading/writing and coordinating multi-partner collaborative funding applications.

    A sound understanding of IP protection and commercial contracts is desirable along with excellent stakeholder engagement across the ecosystem and managing the interface between academia, NHS, industry, public and local government.

    Our Innovation Consultants will support and manage delivery of our innovation engagement, service delivery and defined innovation projects as part of the Innovation team.

    They will be responsible for specific areas of focus and for monitoring progress and successful delivery against agreed outcomes.

    Managing a portfolio of innovation projects as part of the Trust wide Innovation Strategy
    Leading internal and external engagement and promotion of Alder Hey Innovation
    Leading hospital engagement workshops and identification of healthcare challenges and technical requirements.
    Detailed project planning and milestones tracking for each project
    Project status reporting and presenting
    Management of internal stakeholders and external partners involved in the projects
    Deal architecture and contract management
    Commercial opportunity validation & project due diligence research and documentation
    Daily project management and delivery including risk management, budget, resources, work packages
    Manage and support more junior members of the innovation team

    The Innovation activities and projects are wide-ranging providing our Innovation Consultants an opportunity to utilise a variety of skill sets to focus on specific areas of activity and grow the role to suit their own experiences and interests.

    ~ Education and Training

    Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (technical, digital innovation, and business ) or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience in innovation technical project management.

    Project management qualification

    Experience in technology, research, innovation and commercial contracts
    Experience of Digital Healthcare technology
    Experience of planning, managing and delivering innovation and technical based projects/programme management and methodology
    Formal project delivery tracking using Gantt charts or similar
    Demonstrable experience of leading and completing complex technical innovation projects
    Experience of an agile user centred approach to project management
    Proven ability to negotiate and motivate teams, including SMEs to ensure project delivery
    Search strategy setting and researching of technical and commercial landscapes Commercial experience, business modelling and funding pitch preparation
    Experience in managing or supporting marketing, communications and events
    Experience of managing or supervising junior staff

    Experience of working in hospital setting
    Experience of public & private sector funding

    Open Innovation Methodology
    The business and innovation needs and structures of start-ups, SMEs and Corporates.

    Understanding of the needs of hospital staff, clinicians and researchers.
    Knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.
    Clear communicator with excellent writing, data entry and presentation skills: capable of constructing and delivering clear information/ instructions to staff and service users
    Proven relationship management skills, able to build and maintain positive and productive relationships across a range of stakeholders
    Commitment to continuing professional development
