    Pricing Systems Developer

    Job Introduction

    Are you passionate about designing, developing, and maintaining pricing systems that drive business success? MPS is seeking a skilled Pricing Systems Developer to join the team and play a crucial role in managing rating coefficients across the UK and Ireland portfolio.

    In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the precise implementation, rigorous testing, and seamless updating of pricing coefficients to ensure they harmonise with ratified pricing decisions and control frameworks. Your expertise will be instrumental in propelling MPS towards sustainable growth and financial resilience as we map out our long-term strategic vision.

    This role marks an exhilarating chapter in our journey as we expand the team to accommodate the current business landscape and propel our pricing strategies into the future. We are looking for an individual who can work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, contribute positively and effectively to change, lead on projects and foster relationships with external partners.

    You will have the advantage of working alongside an experienced Pricing Systems Developer who will provide invaluable support and training. This is a chance to grow your expertise in pricing systems development and make a tangible difference in the strategic outcomes of MPS.

    Role Responsibility

    • Design and maintain pricing emulator to future-proof and keep pace with developments in core pricing system.
    • Design and maintain processes to ensure suitable implementation of coefficients in core pricing system.
    • Ongoing Algorithm development for existing and new cohorts as they become operational.
    • Ensure wider business / stakeholders understand importance of pricing emulator and need to have this regularly developed.
    • Build, test & run pricing emulator to ensure coefficients are implemented in line with plan.
    • Proactively work with release team in MEDD team to ensure smooth implementation of releases with correct level of testing oversight.
    • Engage with internal stakeholders from all divisions to ensure that there is awareness of pricing process recommendations and the reasons for these.
    • Liaise with and assist the wider underwriting and pricing team with implementation of potential new factors / ways of pricing.
    • Provide assistance with pricing changes in conjunction with Digital and Change, making sure changes proceed as planned, answering any queries relating to progress and attending change meetings.

The ideal candidate for the Pricing Systems Developer role will have the ability to juggle multiple tasks seamlessly and perform flawlessly under pressure. If you thrive on unravelling complex challenges with logical precision and have a track record in developing and/or managing insurance systems (bonus if this is Sapiens IDIT), then you might be the one we're looking for

    A background in analytics or data governance is key to success in this role, as will be your proficiency in systems implementation, analysis, and testing. Whether you hold a numerical degree or boast hands-on experience in managing intricate data sets and databases, your expertise will be pivotal in shaping the future of our pricing strategies at MPS.

    Your expertise in advanced T-SQL coding, such as macro language, dynamic SQL, and system stored procedures, will be a game-changer in driving our pricing systems to new heights. Extensive experience in leveraging analytics to design and execute business strategies in a high-energy environment is a must, along with a keen sense of business analysis and commercial acumen.
