    Description
    Unilever are looking for an Engineering technician to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship to join their team.

    Mechatronics maintenance technicians ensure that plant and equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate production targets regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within High Value Manufacturing environments.

    Typically, the work would cover a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding and the ongoing planned maintenance of complex automated equipment.

    This requires the application of a complex blend of skills, knowledge, and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.

    Assembling and testing fluid power systems
    Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
    Wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits
    Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs)
    Health and Safety in the Engineering workplace
    Communications for engineering technicians
    Mathematics for engineering technicians
    Mechanical Principles of engineering systems
    Electrical and electronic principles in engineering
    Application and principles of PLCs
    Monitoring and fault diagnosis of engineering systems
    Maintenance of mechanical systems

    By joining our Engineering team as an apprentice, you will become part of our inclusive community of over 8000 of the most highly skilledEngineers worldwide, spanning across 320+ factories.

    During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre based in Catcliffe, Sheffield, for an initial block of full-time study.

    After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.

    Unless exemptions apply, year 1 apprentices are required to live full time in Sheffield for 24 weeks in university accommodation so that they can attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield.

    Future programme years apprentices are required to continue attending the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, for example, 1 day per month which will require travel and overnight hotel accommodation.

    Please note the AMRC Training Centre reserves the right to close applications ahead of the published closing date.
    Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements

    GCSE English language C or 4 or above

    Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.

    Apprenticeship applications are open for 2024.
