About the Role

As a member of the academy's support staff team you will be responsible for supporting the development of all children, including those with SEN/D and for whom English is an additional language, supporting their knowledge, understanding and skills across all areas of learning. This may be supporting children on a one-to-one basis, supporting small groups or delivering interventions and additional support to children as needed. This will be a flexible role which could be working with all children across the academy, from Early Years to Key Stage 2. The role also includes supervising children during break and lunchtimes, both on the playground and in the dining room as well as providing short-term cover for staff absences.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentice will undertake all relevant training to support knowledge skills and behaviour in order to qualify as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This is a Level 3 apprenticeship, delivered by Buckinghamshire College Group, lasting 78 weeks. For more information about the apprenticeship, please see the link here. The employed apprentice will have both on and off-the-job training each week in school an in partnership with Buckinghamshire College Group.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is the potential for permanent post as a Teaching Assistant at the end of the apprenticeship, with further career progression to train to teach within REACh2. For more information about this route, please see the link here.
