    Description


    Fitness Writer6 month FTC The Independent is looking for a new fitness writer to join its eCommerce team on a six-month fixed term contract.

    The successful candidate will have previous experience in the fitness space and a genuine passion for all things sport and wellness.

    They must have a proven track record of writing engaging copy to tight deadlines and have a strong understanding of trends and key product categories.

    They must also work well within high-pressure environments and be excited about contributing to this growing vertical.


    Key responsibilities:

    Pitching relevant fitness and wellness content that will resonate with The Independent's audienceWriting fitness and wellness news, reviews, evergreens, features and first-person piecesWork with the Audience Team to ensure content is sufficiently optimised for Google and is performing to its potentialShoot video content as required for social mediaSkills and experience:Fitness writing experienceStrong SEO awarenessKnowledge of social and search trendsFamiliar using CMSPhotoshop skills, preferredDiversity, Equity and InclusionWe champion diversity in our teams and in our reporting.
