Sixth Form Special Needs Teacher - United Kingdom - Folkestonegirls

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description

Meadowfield School is looking to appoint an innovative and inspirational special needs teacher for our developing Sixth Form Provision. The successful candidate will require a range of essential skills in delivering a curriculum based on Preparing for Adulthood for young adults with a range of special educational needs.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher to join our highly skilled team, making a difference to our young adults with profound, severe and complex needs. If you want to teach in a welcoming, joyful school community, and you share our passion and determination to prepare young people for adulthood, then we have the ideal teaching role for you

We offer a range of opportunities to ensure our students are prepared to be successful in their next steps, whether that be college, the world of work, apprenticeships, a volunteer role or a fully supported environment. Our Sixth Form offer includes: Duke of Edinburgh Award, employability and careers education, life skills, a range of accreditations, work experience and much more.

Experience of working in a special needs setting and teaching young people with ASD as well as learning difficulties is desirable, but not essential. If you work in a mainstream setting and are curious about Special Needs Schools, you are welcome to contact us to find out more.

At Meadowfield we work hard to ensure that all of our students make excellent progress, and we continually seek to improve the wellbeing of both our young people and staff. Now is an exciting time to join our Outstanding school as we expand to better meet the demand for special school places in Swale. We are incredibly proud our Ofsted report. Ofsted recognise that relationships between our staff and students are exceptionally positive, and we are delighted that our students told inspectors they are very happy at the school and really enjoy their lessons.

We encourage all of our employees to further their career development and we respect initiative and ambition. We are committed to performance management, staff training, coaching, mentoring and peer support. If you are appointed to a teaching role with us, we guarantee that you will be well supported. You will receive a structured process of induction and will benefit from the collective support of an experienced network of colleagues. From all staff we expect commitment to the school and a desire to improve and excel.

Meadowfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. This post is subject to references, a medical check and an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.Due to the conditions and complex needs of the pupils at Meadowfield School, continuity and consistency of support is paramount and therefore candidates for all positions will need to commit to the full working hours of the post. Note that family members of current pupils will not be interviewed for this post.
