    Description

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team as a Programme Administrator. The Institute of Computing for Climate Science (ICCS) studies and supports the role of software engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science within climate science. ICCS is located within the Department of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) on Wilberforce Road.

    The successful candidate will be pivotal in coordinating and overseeing the administration and operation of the Institute, to ensure the smooth running of research activities and stakeholder engagement.

    The Programme Administrator will be responsible for coordinating the efficient running of the Institute on behalf of the Programme Manager and Executive Programme Director. The responsibilities will include; coordinating and overseeing the administration of the project, developing, monitoring, and updating media (website/social media accounts), coordinating and organising project-related activities and events, assisting with the production of reports, supporting committee work, carrying out financial administration, publicising ICCS events, personal administrative support to the ICCS co-directors and relevant HR administration.

    We are looking for a skilled and experienced administrator. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be experienced in building positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external colleagues. You will be well organised, and have a flexible approach to work, with an ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities along with excellent computer skills are also essential. You will have some experience in supporting event coordination.

    A scientific background is not required for this role, but an interest in supporting research in this area would be beneficial.

    This is a full-time role working 36.5 hours per week. However, we actively promote equality, diversity, and family-friendliness and are sympathetic to flexible working and job shares.
