- Development and management of a multiyear depot repair & maintenance programme, working closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure priorities are understood and budgets available
- Develop and manage a contract wide plant & fleet replacement strategy to inform long term investment requirements and support the Balfour Beattys carbon reduction plan
- Directly manage work undertaken on the depot or vehicles ensuring suitable risk assessment and method statements are in place and teams are set to work safely.
- Work closely with the wider Operations team to ensure driver and plant operator training & development needs is understood and delivered. Wherever possible utilise the Operator Skills Hub to ensure Herefordshire staff obtain industry leading skills
- Work closely with the health, safety, environment & sustainability (HSES) teams to ensure documented plans are in place and depots remain safe and compliant to required standards
- Provide direction through the line management of the transport officer, stores supervisor, plant engineer and yard operatives
- Proven experience of managing a teams
- SMSTS or similar
- Detailed knowledge of driver hours and CPC requirements
- Previous experience of managing a fleet of vehicles
- Experience of working within an Operational environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Great organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills.
