    Senior Counsel, Litigation (Global)

    As part of the Global Litigation team, Senior Counsel will manage all litigation, including pre-litigation disputes and claims , provide legal counsel to management on litigation strategy and contentious commercial matters in EMEA and internationally.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Manages litigation brought by and against the Company and pre-litigation claims and disputes.


    • Manages all aspects of outside counsel engagement on matters, communication, reviewing service levels and managing budgets relating to external services.


    • Provides legal counsel and guidance to managers, executives, and employees on litigation strategy and dispute resolution across various Company business lines.


    • Works closely with senior members of commercial teams to identify and solve disputes and risks in current working practices.


    • As part of the Global Litigation Team, advises local legal/business teams on CBRE's position, risk appetite and strategy in disputes.


    • Recommends improvements to policies or processes using lessons learnt from legal disputes and, with relevant stakeholders, implements best practices to reduce future risk.


    • Maintains current knowledge of the law in areas of special interest to the Company including real estate, commercial and employment law.


    • Provides general legal advice, answering queries on an ad-hoc basis, and collaborating with legal, operational, and commercial colleagues with respect to all aspects of the business.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


    • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 8-10 years' litigation or dispute-focussed experience managing $1 mil+ cases.


    • Experience managing disputes and litigation based on a broad range of commercial contracts, preferably gained within a mid to top-tier City firm or in-house at a large company.


    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities with excellent follow-up skills and organisation.


    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing


    • Can comprehend, analyse, and interpret complex business documents and respond effectively to sensitive matters.


    • Can write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles, and is able to negotiate effectively with key stakeholders.


    • Ability to work proactively, efficiently, and co-operatively, ensuring all deadlines are met.


    • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail


    • Professional and approachable whilst also being adaptable.


    • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues


    • Based in London with flex working.
