    Description

    Dealing primarily within incident and change management within a 3rd line networks team, you will need strong communication skills, a great team ethic, customer centric focus and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    You will work alongside a team of other '3rd line' network engineers dealing customer incidents and changes on technologies such as WAN (CPE and PE), SDWAN, and Security, primarily within the Cisco and Fortigate product lines however there will be exposure to other technologies such as VMware and Citrix.

  • Effectively manage your ticket queue while resolving incidents and delivering changes within company defined SLA, KPI and CSAT targets.
  • Work as a support escalation to associate engineers for technical and commercial issues.
  • Be actively involved in priority one and major incidents during hours and out of hours (when on-call)
  • Work within and understand company process and internal/external procedures.
  • Accountable for ensuring PDRs and 121s are conducted with their line manager on a frequent basis.
  • Responsible for their own goals and tasks (task matrix or otherwise) to deliver the desired outcomes, requesting relevant training and development where required.
  • Escalation and pro-active chasing of vendors and external support groups where required.
  • Participate in the teams on-call rota (following successful probation)
  • What we'll need from you...

  • Experience network incidents on a managed services desk at 2nd line / 3rd line or similar.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco ASA's, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ISE, Cisco WLC, Cisco/Arista Routers & Switches, Fortigate, FortiManager
  • Security Clearance (without restrictions) is a necessary part of the role to deliver workload for our public sector customers, you should have nothing that could hinder the application of this.
  • Essential

  • Fortinet NSE 4,5,6,7,8 or working towards
  • CCNA or working towards
  • Experience working with VPN's
  • Viptella, Fortinet and/or Meraki SDWAN experience
  • Desirable

  • CCNP
  • Cisco specialist certifications
  • Working experience working with WANs & SDWAN
  • Working experience in some or all of the following protocols/products: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, PBR, MPLS (L3VPN), VRF, L2VPN, FTTx, ADSL, RADIUS, Layer 2 protocols (STP, etc), QOS, 802.11, Cisco ASA, IPSec/SSL VPN
  • Please note this role requires availability to take responsibility for out-of-hours technical support. We will also require the successful candidate to have eligibility to go through a Security Clearance check.
