    Job Title: Research Sister/Charge Nurse at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust

We are on the lookout for a passionate, experienced, flexible, and self-motivated registered nurse to join our dynamic Research & Development Nursing Teams at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.

    • The selected candidate will be responsible for providing and managing a Research Nursing Service primarily in the Neurology Department but may also need to work at other local sites when necessary.
    • Working closely with Leading Principal Investigators, Lead Research Nurse, and the Research team, the Research Nurse will play a key role in facilitating patients' participation in research.
    • Responsibilities include leading complex studies, managing a caseload, supporting other studies and team members, ensuring safe recruitment of patients into clinical research, and overseeing the delivery of a variety of research studies.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential for this role.

    Main duties of the job: Research Sister/Charge Nurse

    The Research Sister/Charge Nurse will utilize their in-depth knowledge of the clinical specialty to support the safe conduct of research within the department, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal frameworks. Collaboration with team members is crucial to guaranteeing the well-being of research participants and adherence to governance protocols.

    Candidates must hold a current NMC registration to be eligible for this position.

    Job Responsibilities

    Clinical:

    • Ensure patient care aligns with Trust policies, research protocols, and procedures.
    • Coordinate care for clinical trial/research patients and supervise junior team members.
    • Independently handle tasks related to clinical trials, attend meetings, assess patient eligibility for research, and communicate clinical decisions effectively.
    • Conduct necessary clinical investigations/procedures as per research protocols, collect samples, and ensure proper storage.
    • Administer treatments and drugs within the context of a clinical trial, monitor side effects, and report appropriately.
